I was contacted to do some light layout and social media work for Thresholds, as they were opening a new office in Blue Island IL. I did this spec work using guidelines they offered and visits to their website to get a feel for their brand.
Here is a logo and light branding project for a freelance client. She came to me asking for a logo for her group consoling business. She had the name “You Got This” picked out. I made a mood board out of a couple of images she supplied me and we settled on some colors which I also included in the mood board.
The next step I took was taking the best ideas of the logo roughs and making them vector and iterating. After I had three ideas with a couple of iterations I let her choose her favorite. She landed on the third logo in the last iteration. I then finalized the logo and gave her a layout for a poster and business card, as well as social media-optimized logos.
Here are some pictures of a Zamboni wrap design I worked on. They originally just wanted decals for it but I talked them into a full wrap with an Ice/Glass shattering background. This has been one of my favorite projects to work on.
Here is a project I was working on for a family friend. She is starting her own motivational group for abuse victims and I volunteered to make a logo for her. I first spent some time roughing out some ideas. I then took some of those ideas and refined them and gave her a couple of options to look over. She settled on the final logo. In this final version of the logo, I changed the font. I wanted to get the V and the L as an illustration in the logo and I came up with this abstract heart shape in a button logo. I also provided her with some mock-ups of what her merch could look like.
I was asked to work on a logo for this counseling business. I offered to alongside doing their logo to install a vinyl version of their logo to their office space.
The sign company gets all types of customers coming to us. Sometimes we have Popeye’s franchise owners ask for window graphics and table tents. They either don’t have contact with corporate marketing or are too lazy to talk to them. In any case, I get to reverse engineer Popeye’s brand and sometimes get to make something in the brand but with a lot of freedom. In the first example, I got the idea to use a graphic from the ’50s or 60’s Popeye’s advertisement.
The company that I work for brands itself as a sign company but they also do many other things. For this business card for example a client came in and they were looking for business cards and Truck Magnets for their Husband's new company. Normally a small start-up company does not look for something complex but they were adamant about creating a logo and a cool look for their company. I surprised them with the custom logo and the layout which we worked together on.
Orange Theory asked for window decals and this is what I came up with using their brand standards before their latest redesign. The last two pictures are the types of banners I design for them after their latest re-branding.
I have made countless lawn signs for almost every type of small event or small company. These are a couple of my favorites!
I tried my hand at Board-game design and along with making the game I designed the packaging. This is what I would propose the packaging to look like. For the front cover I molded clay into letters and "buried" them in potting soil and then took a picture of that. I really enjoyed working on packaging design and would be excited to work more on that!
Here is a recent logo I made for a client to use with for his trucking company. The only input was "Put a globe in it" and I went from there.
